Legacy of Compassion Would
you like to sustain your concern and care of rescue Chinese Cresteds
long after you are gone? Participate in our “Legacy of Compassion”
program and consider naming Crested Guardians, Inc. in your last will
and testament; planned giving through your after-life directives will
ensure that your caring and compassionate nature extends beyond living.
The funds you bequeath will enable us to continue to carry on our
mission of helping Chinese Cresteds in need, and you’ll have tremendous
satisfaction in knowing that you will leave a Legacy of Compassion long
after you are gone. Providing for Crested
Guardians, Inc. in your last will and testament is an easy way to
support our mission on behalf of rescue Chinese Crested dogs. You may
consult with your attorney to include a charitable bequest to Crested
Guardians in your will, or you can draw up a codicil, which is an
addendum that places new provisions into an existing will.
For any last will and testament, there are different kinds of bequests
and specific language to indicate the precise direction of your final
requests is generally required. Below are some of the more common types
of bequests and recommended language to use in a will, which you can
review with your attorney. Specific Bequest
A specific bequest allows for the donation of a fixed gift in the form
of a cash amount, and can be represented with the following example
language: “I give, devise and bequeath to Crested Guardians, Inc., (www.crestedguardians.org) the sum of (insert dollar amount) to be used for its general purposes.” Residuary Bequest
A residuary bequest allows for a percentage of your estate be donated,
and can be represented with the following example language: “I give,
devise and bequeath to Crested Guardians, Inc., (www.crestedguardians.org)
all (insert percentage amount) of the rest, residue, and remainder of
my estate, to be used for its general purposes.” Contingency Bequest
A contingency (or conditional) bequest allows you to make a gift
contingent on certain circumstances, and can be represented with the
following example language: “If my wife/husband/partner/child should
predecease me, I bequeath the sum of (insert dollar amount) to Crested
Guardians, Inc. (www.crestedguardians.org) to be used for its general purposes.” NOTE:
Because the laws governing wills and bequests vary from state to state,
Crested Guardians recommends that you consult with an attorney to
create your will or codicil to ensure that it is legally binding. Please contact us if you are interested in our Legacy of Compasssion program.
THE RAINBOW BRIDGE
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies
that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to
Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special
friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food,
water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the
animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor.
Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as
we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals
are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss
someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They
all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops
and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body
quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the
green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You
have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The
happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved
head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so
long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together…
